August Client of the Month: Jenny Ross
Jenny first started working out with Energetix Fitness in March of 2009. When asked why she likes outdoor circuit training these are her responses…
What do you like best about Energetix Fitness Outdoor Circuit Training?
Outdoor fitness training is the only exercise I’ve ever been able to stick with because I love being outdoors because I hate sweaty-smelling gyms! I love the camaraderie and motivation I feeling I get from working out in a group. Energetix is extra special because we go to so many different, beautiful locations. It was a great way to learn about the natural beauty in the area when I first moved here. The range of ages and fitness levels makes it easy to fit in, and Kathy is a great instructor, tough but lots of fun!
What is your favorite location and why?
I cannot pick just one favorite location because the variety in the locations and in the varied types of training we do at the different locations is part of what I like best about Energetix Fitness!
The July Client of the Month is: Susie Bright
Susie has been attending class with Energetix Fitness since August 2008!
What do you like best about outdoor circuit training? It’s always an adventure. Kathy is a remarkable teacher and coach, the other women are so supportive, plus you feel like an invincible Amazon afterward! We live in paradise— the redwoods and the beaches never fail to inspire. Who wouldn’t want to start their day like this?
What is your favorite location and why? The year before I started Energetix Fitness, my family was invited to a picnic at Seacliff State Beach, which involved schlepping our beach supplies down a looooong wooden staircase to the shore.
I huffed and puffed to my family, “What maniac would pick a location like this? I’m never coming here again!” I could barely drag myself back up to the parking lot.
That staircase is the Seacliff State Beach Steps, and now I can climb them— quick-step, skip-a-step, and sumo-squats— seven times in one session. Near dawn, when we watch the sunrise, it’s nothing short of spectacular.
Introducing our June Client of the Month: Wendy Cumming
Wendy has been attending classes since June 2008!
1. What do you like most about Energetix Fitness – outdoor circuit training?
Being outdoors in the sunshine, fog, pouring rain, mud, and enjoying a combination of fitness, friends, exploration, and scenery all before going to my office job!
2. What is your favorite location and why?
All the locations are great. I love Wilder, Nisene Marks, Henry Cowell, but mostly the newer location behind Scotts Valley High School. It has a mix of scenery, a variety in terrain, and a Wicken element, combined with an ‘outdoorsy’ Christian flavor.

Where: Running Revolution
1664-B Soquel Drive
Santa Cruz, CA 95065
What will be done:
Arch Analysis: We use the latest technology in getting an accurate read on your arches. The system we use is the most revolutionary in-store foot analysis device ever created.
Gait Analysis: You will run on a treadmill and be video taped to get an accurate look at your body movements while in motion to analyze more specifically how each of your feet fall when you run, at what point on your foot do you strike the surface, and how does your foot react when you toe off. This information will be used to determine what type of shoes and gear are right for you.
Come and take advantage of this great opportunity. Please RSVP to reserve your spot!

What I like best is that the classes are all in the beautiful outdoors; from beaches to redwoods to local parks! I love the overall body workout and seeing the results of it. Plus the people are awesome!
2)What is your favorite location and why?
It’s a toss-up between a beautiful day at Natural Bridges where the ab workout doesn’t seem as bad when you’re on the beach, and Fall Creek where the redwoods and flowing creek are majestic.

What I like best about Energetix Fitness is that our instructor Kathy is focused and keeps us on task with our workouts and the camaraderie within the group. Also, being outdoors at the various locations is a great way to start the day and gives you the opportunity to visit these places you normally wouldn’t go to.

What do like most about outdoor circuit training?
I love the variety outdoor fitness offers – never a dull moment and never the same experience twice.
What is your favorite location and why?
My favorite location is Wilder Ranch. I love the views of the ocean and the occasional sea lion, seal or otter spotting. The location offers a mid-distance run along with abs on the beach. This may be the only location I don’t complain about doing ab work!
